Structure
The Forensic Psychiatry Department ensures the analysis of mandates—both therapeutic and forensic—before assigning them to interested colleagues from various institutions.
Depending on the complexity of the mandates, the Forensic Psychiatry Department is available to participate in initial interviews to help establish the framework and follow-up modalities, and to support the administrative management of the cases.
Services Provided
- Ensure the analysis and allocation of mandates, both therapeutic (outpatient measures under Article 63 of the Swiss Criminal Code and therapeutic follow-ups such as conduct rules within the framework of alternatives to detention and conditional release) and related to the field of forensic expertise.
- Support therapists involved in therapeutic follow-ups by participating in initial interviews to establish the framework, modalities, and objectives of the care, and by providing supervision and intervision sessions.
- Carry out forensic assessments in terms of criminal responsibility (pre-sentencing) and dangerousness (post-sentencing), and supervise physicians and psychologists in training who act as co-experts.
- Develop partnerships with various judicial authorities (mandating bodies) and coordinate the activities of the different stakeholders involved in the social field.
